Young athletes from leading schools across Lagos showcased exceptional speed, determination and talent at the Fit Child Showdown Championship 2026, producing thrilling performances in the 100m and 200m finals across different age categories.
The championship, which brought together students from various schools, highlighted the growing standard of youth athletics in Nigeria while providing a platform for emerging talents to compete at a high level.

Abdulfatai Leads Boys’ 100m Final
The standout performance of the day came in the Boys’ 100m final (16-18 years), where Oduwole Abdulfatai of FC School stormed to victory with a time of 10.79 seconds.
Oninwu Chimobi of Faith Academy, Ogba secured second place after clocking 11.03 seconds, while Ogunyemi Eniola of De’ Unique School finished third in 11.05 seconds.
Daniella Wins Girls’ 100m Crown
In the Girls’ 100m final (16-18 years), Emeifele Daniella of Faith Academy, Ogba emerged champion after crossing the finish line in 12.33 seconds.
Ogunaike Anuoluwapo of Alti-Velis School claimed second position with 13.20 seconds, while teammate Osuji Emmanuella completed the podium with 13.70 seconds.

Adepate Dominates 200m Girls Final
The Girls’ 200m final (14-15 years) saw Adepate Sufiat of De’ Unique School claim gold with a winning time of 25.50 seconds.
Onasanya Ebunoluwa of Topfield School finished second in 26.00 seconds, while Oluwa Hameedah of Chrisland School placed third after recording 27.46 seconds.
Mohammed Tops Boys’ 200m Event
In the Boys’ 200m final (14-15 years), Oluokun Mohammed of Ronik School secured first place with a time of 24.45 seconds.
Enwiugha Basil of Amazing Talent College followed closely in second place with 24.80 seconds, while Okunlewe Tobilola of Faith Academy, Ogba finished third in 25.13 seconds.
Faith Academy Excels in Girls’ 100m
The Girls’ 100m final (14-15 years) was dominated by Faith Academy athletes as Adesuyi Fadekemi clinched victory with a time of 12.51 seconds.
Her teammate, Adesuyi Folakemi, secured second place in 12.81 seconds, while Ogunbiyi Oluwatoni of Chrisland School finished third with 13.95 seconds.
Chrisland and Faith Academy Shine in Boys’ 100m
In the Boys’ 100m final (14-15 years), Erin David of Chrisland School crossed the line first in 11.07 seconds.
Olutayo Amazing of Faith Academy, Ogba finished second with 11.42 seconds, while Onuoha Blossom of Ebun Heritage School came third in 11.71 seconds.
Strong Performances in 12-13 Years Category
The Boys’ 100m final (12-13 years) saw Alade Abel of Faith Academy, Ogba claim victory with a time of 11.54 seconds.
Osita-Michael Daniel of Chrisland School finished second in 11.85 seconds, while Isaac Henry of Chrisland School placed third in 12.24 seconds.
In the girls’ division, Oluwademilade Brownie of Provident Heights School emerged champion with a time of 13.18 seconds.
Kasali Mariam of Hall of Grace School finished second in 13.42 seconds, while Vennessa Emmanuel of Faith Academy, Ogba secured third place in 13.68 seconds.
Future Stars Impress in 10-11 Years Category
The youngest competitors also produced impressive performances in the 100m finals (10-11 years).
In the boys’ event, Agu Chukwudi of Chrisland School won with a time of 13.48 seconds, ahead of John Paul of Herene School who clocked 13.75 seconds, while Amuwa Qulbert of De’ Unique School finished third in 14.37 seconds.
In the girls’ category, Oshoilowo Zuriel of Chrisland School claimed first place after finishing in 14.58 seconds.
Hassan Esther of R&B School secured second position with 14.90 seconds, while Babawale Mojoyinoluwa of Rose Valley School completed the podium with 15.23 seconds.
