Season 3 of Musa Kida U-17 Basketball Tournament Tips Off Nov. 6

All is set for Season 3 of the Musa Kida Basketball Under-17 Competition commencing on Thursday, November 6.

The two-day event promises to be exciting as it provides young players with a platform to showcase their talents.

Over 200 players from 10 teams, including schools, will participate in the competition, which will take place at the Giant of Africa Basketball Court, Abesan Mini Stadium, Ipaja.

Some of the participating teams include Slashers, Ravens, Dodan Cadet, Warlords, JF Warriors, Honeybase Schools, Doregos Private Academy and High Dreams.

Others are MC Spenser, Estate Kings, Mighty Favour College, and Francis College.

The Coordinator of the event, Tayo Adeyemo said that the top three teams in both the boys’ and girls’ categories will receive medals, while the overall winners will be awarded brand new trophies.

Engr. Musa Kida, the sponsor of the competition, will officially declare the event open and will be present to award the trophies and medals during the finals.

The NBBF President emphasized the importance of more grassroots programs to develop basketball in Nigeria.

According to him, events like this help discover hidden talents for the country.

Meanwhile, Prostar Sports, the official kit partner of the Musa Kida Basketball Competition, has pledged greater support for this year’s edition.

Chief Paul Maduokor, Managing Director of Prostar Sports, stated that the company will continue to invest in Nigerian youth through sports sponsorship.

The company donated six sets of jerseys, match balls, individual awards, and T-shirts during the last edition held in 2024.
