The Royal Aces Basketball Club have bolstered their squad depth with the signing of new players ahead of the 2025 Zenith Women Nigeria Basketball Premier League season.
The new players include shooting guard Okeke Chidinma Loveth and Oyimdamola Abdulazeez. Other players who re-signed were Udueyin Ruth and Onajomo Ogheneochuko on a one-year deal.
According to the statement released by the club’s media department, the addition of these players were aimed at strengthening the squad.
Loveth, a skilled scorer with experience at the highest levels of West African basketball, previously played for Dolphins Basketball Club in the Zenith Women’s Basketball League before moving on to Aspac BBC in Benin Republic.
Her ability to create shots and contribute on both ends of the floor made her a standout performer in her previous stints.
Her path to the Royal Aces was solidified after she delivered an impressive performance during the Louis Edem Foundation West African Basketball Invitational Championship in February.
Representing the Aces in that tournament, Loveth showcased her shooting range, defensive tenacity, and leadership on the court—qualities that caught the attention of Head Coach Olusegun Ojo.
“We saw her impact firsthand during the invitational championship, and there was no doubt that she would be a great fit for our team.”
“Her experience and skill set will be valuable as we push for greater success this season,” Coach Ojo said.
Oyimdamola Abdulazeez was also part of the team’s roster for the Louis Edem Foundation West African Basketball Invitational Championship in February. She was exceptional, attracting the chase of the club for her.
Udueyin Ruth and Onajomo Ogheneochuko were vital to the Royal Aces’ impressive run last season, helping the team secure a top-four finish in the league. Their contributions on both ends of the floor were crucial, and their return strengthens the team’s ambitions for the upcoming season.
