Defending Gothia Puma Trophy (B17) champions Beyond Limits FA of Nigeria have officially punched their ticket to the knockout phase in breathtaking fashion, dismantling India’s Sudeva Delhi FC 7-0 at the SKF Arena.
The headline of the day belonged to none other than the tournament’s standout talisman, Memud Olamillekan Frank, who delivered a masterclass in clinical finishing by scoring four sensational goals. The incredible individual haul has firmly established the young Nigerian striker as the favorite to claim the prestigious Gothia Cup Golden Boot.
With 10 points secured from their four league-phase matches (three wins, one draw), Beyond Limits has solidified its position at the top of the 24-team table, securing a direct route to the semi-finals in the tournament’s competitive new format.
The Memud Frank Show Takes Center Stage
Beyond Limits wasted no time asserting their dominance, establishing complete control over the midfield from the opening whistle.
It took just 17 minutes for Memud Olamillekan Frank to open his account. Latching onto a perfectly weighted pass, the forward bypassed the Sudeva defense and calmly slotted the ball home to make it 1-0.
Twelve minutes later, the high-flying Akpabio Mark doubled the advantage. In the 29th minute, Mark continued his brilliant goalscoring form in Sweden by turning his marker inside the penalty box and firing a powerful shot into the back of the net.
From that moment on, the first half turned into the “Frank Show.” The prolific striker scored a quick-fire double within four minutes, finding the net in the 35th and 39th minutes to complete a first-half hat-trick. His movement off the ball left the Indian defenders with no answers, sending the Nigerian side into the halftime break with a comfortable 4-0 lead.
No Mercy in the Second Half
Beyond Limits showed no signs of slowing down in the second period. Just seven minutes after the restart, the relentless Frank struck again. In the 52nd minute, he bagged his fourth goal of the afternoon with a spectacular finish, extending the lead to 5-0.
With the match completely out of reach, the Nigerian academy used their squad depth to keep up the pressure. In the 56th minute, Olaniyo Precious Olanrenwaju got his name on the scoresheet with a well-placed effort to make it six.
Just three minutes later, Saka Yusuf Adekunle completed the 7-0 rout, firing home in the 59th minute to cap off a flawless team performance and seal a massive goal-differential boost for the defending champions.
