2024 NBBF Women’s Premier League Set To Dunk Off With Royal Aces, Titans Making Debut

The 2024 Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF)/Zenith Women’s Premier Basketball League is set to commence on Sunday, September 1, 2024, with the Royal Aces and Titans basketball clubs entering the top-flight competition for the first time.

According to an announcement from NBBF Secretary General Peter Njoku, the league will start with the Savannah Conference. This segment will feature eight teams competing from September 1 to 7 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The teams in this conference are Nigeria Customs, Plateau Rocks, Air Warriors, Nasarawa Babes, Nigeria Army, Kada Angels, Royal Aces, and Titans.

Following the Savannah Conference, attention will shift to the Atlantic Conference, scheduled to take place from September 22 to 28 at the Indoor Basketball Hall B3 in the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu. The Atlantic Conference will include the remaining eight teams: MFM, FirstBank, Sunshine Angels, IGP Queens, Delta Force, Dolphins, Bayelsa Blue Whales, and First Deep Waters Basketball Club.

The top four teams from each conference will advance to the National Final 8, which will be held from October 13 to 19 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The champion of the National Final 8 will earn the right to represent Nigeria in the Africa Women’s Basketball League (AWBL), with the start date for the AWBL to be announced at a later time.
