Zenith Emperor Fc teen sensation Jesugbemi Paul has made his first professional appearance in the country’s third division league, Nationwide League One, (NLO) during the matchday one fixtures played at the Maracana stadium in Ajegunle, Lagos.
The lanky winger who was brought in the second half while his team was trailing behind F8ballers FC, 1-2, displayed exceptional skill, dazzling from the wing with accurate crosses eliciting cheers from spectators.
In an interview with sportsvibe.com.ng, Paul admitted the league was competitive, assuring to enliven the hope of his team to bounce back from its first loss in the league.
“Although we lost the match, I believe we can do better. This is my first time playing in the league. The league is interesting, I know we can win more. We still have more to win. I will do my best,” he said.
When asked of his target for the season, he revealed that he aims to score more than nine goals, adding that his aspiration in his emerging football career is to become a top world striker.
“I want to be a perfect striker, score more goals. My name should be all over the world, they should know me as a top striker,” he said.
