UNILAG’s Marvelous Owolanke Targets Gold at NiMSA Games in Football, Handball

Marvelous Owolanke, a standout medical student and athlete from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), is determined to bring home the gold in both football and handball at the ongoing 19th Nigerian Medical Students Association (NiMSA) Games.

Speaking in an interview with Sportsvibe.com.ng, Owolanke, who also serves as the Publicity Secretary of the Association of Medical Students, University of Lagos (AMSUL), shared his high hopes for his school’s performance at the prestigious collegiate tournament.

“As the host, I expect us to win overall. My long-term expectation is to see medical students from all over Nigeria come together for this event,” Owolanke stated.

Owolanke underscored the importance of the NiMSA Games, which serve not only as a competitive platform but also as a means to foster camaraderie among medical students nationwide.

“The idea of the games is to unite us, so we can have fun, show some competitive spirit, and enjoy ourselves,” he said.

A versatile athlete, Owolanke is set to compete in football, handball, and the long jump. He confidently expressed his ambitions for the tournament: “I’m aiming for a gold medal in both football and long jump.”

For Owolanke, participating in the NiMSA Games marks a personal milestone, as he looks to showcase his talents on a national stage.

“Personally, it’s a big achievement. I’ve won a lot in my college, but this is my chance to finally win something outside,” he added.

With high expectations and a strong sense of unity, Owolanke is poised to make a significant impact as the games unfold, hoping to lead UNILAG to victory in the much-anticipated event.
