UNILAG Student Doko Oluwatimilehin Aims For Gold At 11th All Africa University Games

A final-year pharmacy student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Doko Oluwatimilehin, is setting his sights on winning the gold medal in Scrabble at the 11th All Africa University Games. The event is scheduled to take place from September 20 to 29, 2024.

Oluwatimilehin, the current West African Scrabble champion, spoke with Sportsvibe.com.ng about his preparations and ambitions. He expressed confidence in his readiness for the competition, despite the challenge of balancing his academic responsibilities with his athletic goals.

“I prepare diligently for any tournament and try to maintain a rigorous routine of studies and practice,” Oluwatimilehin said. “However, as I am currently occupied with exams, my practice has been limited. Once my exams are completed, I plan to intensify my preparations for the upcoming event.”

Looking forward to the continental multi-sport event, Oluwatimilehin highlighted the opportunity for networking and the chance to foster camaraderie among participants. “This is a significant event that offers not just a platform to compete, but also to connect with students from other universities. It promises to be a memorable experience beyond just competing,” he added.
