The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Marines defeated the NYSC Lagos team, 3-0 in a friendly match played on Wednesday at the University’s sports center.
The encounter which saw large turnout at the stadium lived to expectation as both teams demonstrated tactical display.
However, the host controlled possessions from the park, launching a flurry of attacks which gave the victory.
The visitors began strongly, putting to halt the speed of their host attackers, thanks to the firm resilience of their defense.
Despite the goals scored by Eniola Odunayo, Demeji and Michael, the host wasted a couple of chances which could have increased the score margin.
In a chat with sportsvibe.com.ng, UNILAG Marine player Folarin Moses described the match as a good test for them to understand their rhythm as a team.
“It was a good result even though we were supposed to score more than three goals. I believe this is an attempt for our coach to fix the team,” he said.
