Sequel to the surge of assault meted on match officials, the Board and Management of Nigeria Nationwide League One, NLO has urged club owners to channel their complaint to them rather than taking law into their hands.

In a statement shared via the official twitter handle of the league @theNNLO, the board frowned against the assault on match officials and illegal payment to match officials to curry favor to their sides, advising them to report their grievances backed with video.

“The Board and Management of Nigeria Nationwide League One Secretariat has noticed with dismay the dangerous occurrence of assault on match officials due to claims of poor officiating during league matches.

“Consequent upon series of reports received by the NLO Secretariat and backed with video evidence, it’s absurd that such ugly incidence still happens in our modern football. The Secretariat hereby wishes to advice that any Club that felt cheated through bias officiating should follow the right channel to report incidence backed with video of such match rather than taken laws into their hands because research has shown that Club Officials are the architect of such ugly incidence and it extends to area of inducement of match officials to curry favour during a match.” The statement reads.

The statement added that: “THIS SCENARIO SHOULD STOP FORTHWITH The NLO secretariat will leave no stone unturned to wield the big stick on any erring club or officials.” The statement reads.
