After a two-day football clinic for young footballers in Ondo state to showcase their talents, the National U-20 coach of Nigeria,Ladan Bosso has posited that the state his endowed with teeming young ones who could turn out be better with more football training.

Bosso stated this while speaking with Ondo FA Media after watching over 10 teams slug it out with each other during the two-day football clinic, commending the Ondo State Football Association for organising a two-day football clinic.

The coach, who said that he was impressed with what he witnessed in the couple of matches played during the clinic, urged young talents to be more disciplined and not give up on their dream to excelled as a footballer.

Bosso said it was important for him as a coach to attend such clinics to speak with young and aspiring football talents and  advise them on how to develop.

“In the first place, i just have appreciate the Coaches Association the way I was received and equally the FA,.

“By the time a coach is going round to watching players in action, and decides to pick one or two players, i think the players he sees will stay longer in camp,  and If he  ( the player ) eventually  makes an impact in the camp, it’s as good as going to the world cup.

“Ondo state are used to developing and discovering talents that’s why we are here to assist the coaches association and the FA with, what they have discovered, we have to help them develop them.” He said.

He advised the participating players not to be deterred.

” I have always said this some  of players ,small thing, they are almost giving up, the Nigeria context is an environment you have to keep fighting, no small thing should deter you, draw you down.

“Keep fighting because you don’t know who is watching!   From  training session, you can find yourself in Europe, not necessarily matches so what I try to advise is  be focused and be determined at any giving time,” he said.

Bosso, who had earlier being in Ilorin, later urged them to avoid the use of drugs, stressing that it had brought down careers of many young promising talents.

The Acting Chairman of the Ondo State Football Association, Barr. Aderemi Adetula, who noted that the programme was first of it’s kind added that it could be an annual event.

“It is not out of place if we are able to do this every year, it’s a rare opportunity  we enjoyed this time around and it’s a first of its kind in Ondo State where a national coach is brought down for a football clinic of this nature and taking advantage to scout for national player.

“We are expecting more of this. I will advise all teams to do follow up of their players and also project their players down incase any of them is invited to the camp,” he said.
