Ekiti and Plateau state arrived late yesternight of the deadline for the arrival of states which sum up twenty nine states which have already arrived for the 6th edition of the National Youths Games in Ilorin.
The Main Organizing Committee (MOC) had earlier extended the arrival date for two days, yet it still await the arrival of 13 other states.
Our correspondent gathered that states which have arrived in Ilorin include Kaduna, Edo, Ondo, Anambra, Lagos, Kano, FCT, Delta, River, Bayelsa, Oyo, Cross river, Kebbi, Taraba, Katisna, Benue, Imo.
Others are: Akwa-Ibom, Ebonyi, Zamfara, Ogun, Kwara, Sokoto, Abia Niger, Osun and Nasarawa, Ekiti and Plateau.
As at filing this report, from the desk of the states which have registered, states which yet to arrive include Kogi, , Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Jigawa and Enugu.
And the screening of the athletes has commenced on Thursday’s morning while the opening ceremony is billed for Friday, 15th October, 2021.
Speaking about the arrival of states, the Director of Grassroots Sports, Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Dr. Bode Durotoye said they are waiting for the arrival of other states.
“We are expecting more state to come. We are doing 34 sports including para sports.” He said.
