NUGA 2025: NSC Strengthens Ties with UNIJOS To Stage  Memorable Edition

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has reinforced its partnership with the University of Jos (UNIJOS), the host institution for the 2025 Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) Games, scheduled to hold from November 6 to November 16, 2025.

NSC Chairman, Shehu Dikko, shared an update on his ‘X‘ handle, revealing details of his meeting with Distinguished Senator Grace Bent, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the UNIJOS Governing Board.

According to him, the meeting offered the opportunity for discussion centered on preparations for the games, key areas of collaboration, and sustainable benefits for the university.  

“This engagement builds on previous meetings between the NSC, UNIJOS leadership, NUGA executives, and other stakeholders to ensure a successful event,” Dikko stated. 

He reaffirmed the NSC’s commitment to revitalizing the NUGA Games, positioning them as a crucial platform for talent discovery and development within Nigeria’s sports pyramid and the RHINES Program.  

Dikko also expressed gratitude to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, and Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said, for their support in revamping university and school sports, ensuring a stronger foundation for future athletes.
