National Youths Games Open Ceremony Shifted to on Friday over Accomodation Challenges

In a bid to resolve accomodations issues, the Federation of Ministry of Youths and Sports has shifted the date for the opening ceremony to Friday, 15th October 2021.

The opening ceremony was billed to hold on Wednesday, 13th October 2021.Our correspondent who observed the arrival of different contingent discovered that they some of them from the North were stranded of where to abode.

Rattled by this, the director of grassroots sports, federal ministry of youths and sports, Mr. Bode Durotoye dropped the hint there has been slight change in the timeline of the schedule of activities.

He explained that the opening ceremony has been shifted to Friday, while the screening for the athletes which was supposed to hold tomorrow Tuesday, 12th October 2021 has been fixed for Thursday, 14th October 2021.

Bode said that the motive behind the change, according to him “The change is to give more days for contingent to arrive and find accommodation for them.”

Unlike the last event in 2019 when there was no academic activities going on in the school but this time the students are presently writing their exams.
