The School of Hygiene, S.O.H in Kano state is billed to slug it out against Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, S.C.R.O.E in the final as the curtain of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Inter-Campus football competition for Kano chapter closes on Sunday, February 6, 2022.


The road to the final has been much travelled by 16 tertiary institutions in Kano state but snowballed to the last two teams to decide the winner of this competition. The final will be played at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education football pitch in Kano state.


The winner of this competition, according to association’s sports director Comrade Mardia NaAllah, will win a car prize; the second will go home with motor cycles while the third winner will get one motor cycle, adding that the prizes will be presented by the sponsor of the competition Senator Barau Jibrin who is representing Kano North.


“Also there is award for best scorer, the best goal keeper and most discipline team.” She added.
Ahead of the match, sportxvibe.com.ng had chat with the presidents of the Students Union Government, SUG, respectively.


To School of Hygiene’s president,Comrade Abubakar Garuba Abukakar, he expressed optimism that his team win return to their institution with the car prize at stake.


“We are expecting to have a success when we playing. we are expecting to win the game, so we are expecting to have a car as the director of sports promised that the team that win the final will have a car and the second position you will get two motorcycle and the third position you will get hundred thousand and all these sponsored by our senator.” He said.


Speaking on the important of the competition, he said that the competition has created bonding among the students and has proved to them that their national students’ union body that caters for the unity of students.


“So the impact of this competition mostly especially in Kano, in my college,the relationship within my students, now we have relationship with my students and other students in tertiary institutions.


“The impact of this tournament is very vital because it lead to good relationship within the students and it also increase the capacity of the union, it allows the students to think in their that now they have a leader.
Also, the Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education’s president Comrade Abubakar Saminu Ahmad did not mince words as he said that team will defeat their opponent.


“All human being is looking for the winning and I am expecting to become a winner of this important program may make it 2-1 or 3-1.” He said.


About the tournament important, he said that has helped foster the peace and unity among the students of different institution.


“The only important of this tournament is to preparing the peace and unity among students of higher institutions in Kano state, not really in Kano state alone but in northern states and country at large because one we come up with something like this, it is a matter of playing like a game and you know game is trying to bringing people together to come with some enjoyment concerning the good atmosphere.” He said.
