Lasustech Tennis Club Hails Junior Players’ Success, Vows Continued Support

The Lagos State University of Technology (Lasustech) Tennis Club has lauded its junior players for their outstanding performances at the recently concluded 3rd Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Junior Tennis Tournament in Lagos.

Club President Alhaji Sanni Mojeed (MO) praised the young athletes, highlighting their achievements as a clear indication of the importance of investing in the development of the junior cadre. He pledged the club’s continued support for the players’ growth.

“Initially, we didn’t take these kids seriously, but that perception has now changed. We will do everything possible to motivate and celebrate them,” Mojeed said.

“They have made us proud, and as a native of Ikorodu, I am committed to ensuring the success of this project.”

The week-long tournament, held at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, featured thrilling performances from Lasustech representatives Majekodunmi Semilore, Olaniyan Adesewa, and Fatima Yusuf.

Among the highlights, Olaniyan Adesinmi emerged victorious in the girls’ 12-and-under category.

Expressing her joy, Adesinmi said, “I’m excited and very happy. I won here last year as well, and God has helped me again this year. I’ll go back home and train harder to defend the title next year.”

Team coach Adeyemi Olaniyan also announced that the players would be welcomed back to Ikorodu with a celebratory reception. “We shall be received with a rousing welcome when we return to the club,” he affirmed.

All the players that represented the Ikorodu constituency are all based at Lasustech Tennis Club Ikorodu Lagos.
