FISU student ambassador Olasubomi Ogundele has urged Nigerian student-athletes set to compete at 2025 FISU World University Games to make the country proud.
The 2025 FISU World University Games begins on Wednesday, July 16.
Ogundele praised the athletes for their dedication, resilience, and the sacrifices they’ve made in balancing academics with high-level sports.
She described their participation as a testament to the potential of Nigerian youth and a symbol of hope for the nation’s future.
“This is not just about sports,” Ogundele said. “This is about the long hours of training, the courage to compete internationally, and the pride of wearing the green and white.”
The ambassador urged the athletes to embrace the Games as their moment to shine, reminding them that their efforts inspire younger generations and showcase Nigeria’s talent to the world.
“Believe in your preparation, trust your journey, and hold your head high regardless of the outcome. You are already champions for making it this far,” she added.
Ogundele called on Team Nigeria to compete with “pride, passion, and purpose,” assuring them of the nation’s unwavering support.
