Dosu Joseph began the campaign of the Nationwide League One, NLO Youth League with an impressive victory after edging Authority FC, 2-1.
The match played at Legacy Pitch inside the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos witnessed football artistries by both teams which thrilled spectators.
Seven minutes into action, Dosu Joseph Captain Eniola Damilare gave his team the lead after he lobbed the ball from the left flank dropping into net, leaving the opponent’s goalkeeper in awe.
Few minutes later, Authority resilience paved way for them after a string of connected passes that teed up Isha Ahmed who tapped the ball in a low drive into the back of the net to restore parity.
On the 28 minutes, Dosu Joseph FC player Adebayo Damilare towering header after connecting a corner kick doubled the lead for his team.
The half time ended in favor of Dosu Joseph FC, 2-1.
The resumption of the second half witnessed the dominance of Authority FC enroaching their opponent’s 18-yard box in search of an equaliser.
But their attempts met the resistance of the Dosu Joseph FC defence.
However, Authority FC incessant attack at the upfront of the Dosu Joseph FC goal bounded area mounted pressure on them.
Some minutes to the end of the second half, Dosu Joseph FC goalkeeper Olaoye Joseph was given a straight red card after being adjudged by the centre referee for an offence.
Despite the numerical deficit of Dosu Joseph FC, they sealed the victory against Authority FC.
