The organisers of the CACATIN Pharmaceuticals Final have issued a stern warning to Elite Talents and Ahead FC ahead of the final match scheduled to hold tomorrow at the Abesan Youth Centre, Ipaja, Lagos.
In a statement released by the event coordinator, Wonderland Events’ Tayo Adeyemo, both teams were urged to educate their supporters and ensure peace during the game.
Adeyemo stressed that any team whose supporters are found guilty of disrupting the peace will face a fine of N50,000.
According to him, the disciplinary committee has decided to tighten security measures to prevent any form of violence.
“We have adequate security on ground, and anyone who instigates hooliganism will be dealt with severely. Furthermore, a N50,000 deduction will be imposed on any team responsible for violence or acts of hooliganism during or after the final,” he stated.
Adeyemo also revealed that Elite Talents FC had earlier been fined N10,000 for the late submission of their licence during the semifinal match.
He added that the team risks an additional N30,000 fine due to the unruly behaviour of one of their members.
“The fine will be enforced if that member is seen at the final. While we commend the composure of the players and Coach Ojuina, we have tagged the said individual a security threat and reported him to law enforcement authorities.
“We will hold Elite Talents accountable should there be any breakdown of law and order during the final. Wonderland Events maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards teams, individuals, or officials who harass or threaten match officials or organisers,” Adeyemo said.
