JOY Nwabuzor who emerged as the best female player at the maiden African Youth Scrabble Championship, AYSC held in August has won a gold medal at the ongoing National Youth Games, in Delta state.
Joy, who represented Edo state, had an unbeaten streak as she won all the 10 rounds to clinch the gold medal.
Speaking after her victory, she revealed she gleaned from the experiences she gained from the AYSC, describing that this NYG edition was overwhelming.
“The whole thing was overwhelming. Winning this gold medal means a lot to me because this is my last game. I am so happy I won this game.
“People around me, they helped me a lot and I did some personal work on myself,” she said.
