The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) contingent has on Wednesday arrived at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), to participate in the much-anticipated NUGA Zone D Pre-Games competition.
The Pre-Games, which serve as a preparatory contest ahead of the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) main event, bring together some of the most vibrant institutions in the South-West region.
Competing alongside FUOYE are strong contingents from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State University, Ekiti State University, Al-Hikmah University, and the host institution, ABUAD.
With excitement brimming, FUOYE’s team expressed confidence in their readiness to excel in various sporting categories, saying the athletes, officials, and supporters prepare to showcase their talent, determination, and competitive spirit on the big stage.
“Team FUOYE has arrived at AFE BABALOLA UNIVERSITY for the Pre-NUGA! The energy is high, the spirit is unmatched, and we’re rooting for our champions all the way! Let’s show them what FUOYE is made of!,” the team’s spokesperson posted on Instagram
For FUOYE, participation in the NUGA Zone D competition is more than just chasing medals; it is about demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and the university’s growing reputation in Nigerian sports.
The students, many of whom journeyed from Oye-Ekiti to Ado-Ekiti, carried with them the hopes of their peers and the strong support of the FUOYE community.
The Pre-NUGA competition is expected to feature a variety of sporting events including athletics, football, basketball, table tennis, and more, providing the perfect stage for FUOYE athletes to shine.
