The stage is set for an electrifying showdown of intellect and vocabulary as 28 of the country’s finest Scrabble players gather at the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Scrabble Club for the YCT Grand Patron Scrabble Mega Jamz.
The highly anticipated tournament, tagged “The Ultimate Word Battle,” will take place on September 13th at 9:00 AM. Players are expected to bring not only their word power but also tactical brilliance, as every move could determine who emerges as champion.
Sponsored by Mr. Femi Ayekun, Grand Patron of the YABATECH Scrabble Club, the Mega Jamz has been described as one of the biggest events on the Scrabble calendar, drawing attention from enthusiasts and fans eager to witness fierce head-to-head matches.
“This event is more than just a competition—it’s a celebration of the richness of language and the strategic depth of Scrabble,” said Tunde Saporu, a member of the local organizing committee, who hinted at the intense level of preparation among participants.
He added that the tournament was organized to prepare the players ahead of the Lekki scrabble classic competition, scheduled to hold 27-28 September, 2025.
