Eighteen top-level scrabble players are set to converge at Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) this weekend for the Scrabble Mega Retreat, a premier event celebrating linguistic skill and strategic gameplay.
The retreat will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Speaking ahead of the event, Tunde Saporu, Chairman, organizing Committee described the retreat as an opportunity not only for competition but also for camaraderie and intellectual engagement.
“This is more than just a tournament—it’s a celebration of language, learning, and community,” he said.
He appreciated the sponsors; Mr. Femi Ayekun, Mr. Bright Uzu, Mr. Adetunji, Mr. Ojih David, Mr. Joe Okere, and Chief Bade, whose support has made the gathering possible.
He added that the competition promises to be a memorable experience of mental stimulation and fellowship, offering both seasoned players and enthusiasts a chance to test their skills and deepen their appreciation for the game.
