Matchday 5 of the Yaba Technology Student Union Government (YASUG) league witnessed thrilling actions on Wednesday as the School of Part-time continued with an impressive win, pummelling the School of Science, 4-0.
The victory which marked the school’s third consecutive win boosted their confidence to lead the log with 13 points.
The encounter began brightly as the school of part-time rode on its strength in search of an early goal but their attempts were abortive.
However, the school of part-time captain Abraham Shile broke the deadlock, raising the hopes of victory for his team.
The match ended 1-0 in the first half.
The resumption of the second half witnessed the dominance of the school of part-time as Shile added three goals to grab a 4-0 victory.
The victory boosted the school’s part-time confidence in the league, however, compounded the woes of the School of Science which is at the bottom of the league.
The encounter between the School of Management and Business Studies and the School of Technology witnessed a fierce battle as both teams displayed top football actions.
However, Opeyemi Alagbala, known as Peller, delivered his team from the hard-fought match as a lone strike earned his team the victory, pushing them to the second of the log.
The victory dethroned the school of technology from the second position to the third.
In an interview with sportsvibe.com.ng, Shile described the victory as a must-win, saying it has boosted the team’s confidence in the league.
“The victory meant a lot to us as a team. The most important to us is to get the three points while the goals are exciting for me,” he said.
