A sports outfit, Belsim Sports Consult has commended the Adamawa state government on the development of grassroots sports within the state.
The Executive Director, Simson Morrison, in a statement obtained by Sportsvibe.com.ng, appreciated the state governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for availing the opportunity to host a basketball championship last year, saying it has elevated basketball game in the state.
“The attention being given to sports development has started yielding the desired results which is evident in the recent unprecedented performance of our youths at the North East zonal qualifications for the National Youth Games held at Jalingo,Taraba State.
“We want to commend His Excellency the Fresh Air Governor,Her Excellency the Deputy Governor,the Hon. Commissioner for youth and sports development and the entire Fresh Air Government for the Giant stride initiative to develop sports infrastructure in the state with the construction of the modern state of the art stadium complex and other mini stadiums in the senatorial zones,” he said.
He reaffirmed his team’s commitment to deepen the partnership, emphasising the need for more concentration on youth development through sports.
“This is a testament to the fact that if more attention is accorded to the development of sports in the state,a reasonable number of our youths will be positively engaged and thereby contribute to the overall progress of the state.
“This will go a long way to impact on the growth and development of sports at the grassroots,” he said.
