A new debutant in the Nigeria’s third division Smart City Fc convincingly defeated Gbagada Fc, 2-0 in the match day one of the 2022/2023 Nation-Wide League One, (NLO) which kicked off today (Wednesday, March 16th 2022) at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, (TBS) in Lagos.
The match lived up to expectation as both team displayed their footballing prowess but the club who just the fray as a league club opened their scoring account in the league in the 31 minutes to take the lead.
After much exchange of action by both team, the first stanza ended in favour of Smart City FC.
The Second stanza began, and within 8 minutes of action, the debutant dominated the game which paid for them as their player Ibrahim Fatai found the back of the net to double their lead.
Gbagada FC tried to reduced the deficit but their attempt proved abortive.
During the last season, Gbagada Fc played 2-2 in their first match of the season against Zenith Emperor Fc.
