Ahead of the forthcoming 6th National Youth Games (U-15) in Ilorin, Kwara State, Oyo State is set to host the Southwest Zonal Elimination Ball Games between September 1-5, 2021.
The event sees the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports coming in conjunction with the Oyo State Sports Council and powered by Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resorts
The competition which will take place at the Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resorts, Akanran will feature eight games namely football, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, hockey, handball, cricket and rugby.
The games will be competed among the six Southwestern states namely Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo and Osun.
Teams are expected to arrive on September 1, with the games proper starting on September 2 and ending September 5.
Each game is expected to produce just one winner that will represent the zone at the National Youth Games in Ilorin come October.
