11th FASU Games: LASU Queens Stage Comeback to Hold UNILAG Angels to 2-2 Draw

Lagos State University (LASU) Queens pulled off a stunning comeback to hold the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Angels to a 2-2 draw in a thrilling group-stage encounter at the 11th FASU Games.

The much-anticipated match between the co-hosts lived up to expectations, captivating fans at the LASU Sports Centre in Ojo.

UNILAG Angels took an early lead just two minutes after kickoff, with Anuoluwapo Adebayo finding the back of the net directly from a corner kick, boosting her team’s confidence in pursuit of maximum points. 

UNILAG Angels continued to dominate, controlling the pace through the midfield and wings, searching for a second goal.

However, LASU Queens responded in the 16th minute, with Chika Ibeawuchi cleverly lobbing the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper to equalize, sending the home crowd into wild celebrations. 

The goal restored hope for the Queens, who aimed to stay atop the table with 4 points.

Before the halftime whistle, UNILAG Angels regained the lead through substitute Olasubomi Ogundele, whose stunning free kick put the Angels back in front.

In the second half, LASU Queens came out determined to level the score, and Kosoro Busayo delivered, connecting from a corner kick to bring the game to 2-2.

The match ended in a draw, keeping LASU Queens at the top of the table with 4 points, while UNILAG Angels remained at the bottom with just 1 point.
